    In an LVA chancery document dated 31st March 1847, I found the following division into 4 lots of slaves with names and (unusually) ages, which may prove helpful for someone looking up family connections.     “Charles aged 24 valued at $600; Sally 40 & child Eliza 3, $275; Peter (sickly, 21) $365; Little George 5, $170: Jane Ellen 7, $200; Billy 19, $200”.
    “James aged 47 valued at $500; Austin 57, $335; Mary 33 & Harriett 3 & Edward 9, $500; Richard 5 $150; Louisa 10 $250; Lett 59, $150; Jenny old & infirm, 63 – less $100”.
    “Moris aged 43 valued at $500; Beranda 33 & Ellen 2 & child Joseph 1 month, $485; + Dabney 13, $475 ; Sam Coleman $300”.
    “George aged 37 valued at $600; Martha 7, $325; Albert 18, $650; Robert 5, $200.”
